Last Rites Saturday For Henry Bathke Former Sumner Mayor
Henry W. Bathke 76 and former Sumner mayor died Wednesday night in Sumner hospital after a 10 month illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. John's American Lutheran church with burial in Wilson Grove cemetery. He served three terms as mayor and was a Spanish American War veteran. Survived by brother Christ of Tripoli and three sisters Amelia Hyman Hawkeye Pauline Bruns Waverly and Mary Lemke Norwalk Wis. His wife Hulda Strumpell died in February 1941.
