George Leckliter Named Assistant Bremer Engineer

George Leckliter will replace D. Allenstein as assistant Bremer inty engineer starting February 1. A Lenox High School graduate who led Northwest Missouri College, Leckliter has worked with the Taylor county highway department for eight years. He and his wife with four children will stay in Bedford until school ends. He is a former secretary of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, an active member, and his family attends the Methodist church.

Kingery wins Betty Crocker Homemaker honor for state

Cynthia K. Kingery of Tripoli High School is named Homemaker of Tomorrow for Iowa after the Dec 1 exam of 704 seniors. She earns a $500 state paper and qualifies for national judging for scholarships up to $5,000, with second to fourth place in state receiving educational awards.

Farm Auction Near Readfield Slated For Feb 12

A farm sale is set for February 12 ten miles south of Readfield at 12 noon. The auction features 33 head of cattle including calfhood vaccinated stock, horses and farm machinery a McD tractor six speed transmission overhauled, a 20 foot harrow and grain lots of corn oats hay and miscellaneous items. Terms require a 25 dollar minimum with one third down and balance over 18 months. Final Rites for Leslie Tegtmeier At Sumner Friday

Leslie Tegtmeier 52 of Sumner died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home Tuesday morning. Funeral services are set for Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Sumner. He was a brother in law of Mrs. Clarence Boeckman.

Two Pedestrians Fined In Justice Court

Two persons paid fines in Justice of the Peace J. M. Haydon's court during January. David Stanley Bremer of Tripoli was fined $30 for speeding plus costs, while William John Kappmeyer of Tri Poli was fined $15 plus costs for driving without lights. A third unnamed individual was fined $20 for speeding and costs.
