THS Christmas program directed by Tjaden Dix
The THS auditorium hosted a festive program on the 22nd with student music groups led by Mr. Tjaden and Mr. Dix. The junior and senior high bands opened, Dennis Buchholz narrated "'Twas the Night Before Christmas," the mixed chorus joined for The Children's Prayer, and the mass chorus closed with the Hallelujah Chorus. Ross Ager, a 1964 THS graduate, now attends Iowa State University in Helser Hall and plans to become a mechanical technician after four years. He notes college instruction is less directive than high school. Also mentioned are brief historical facts: the Purple Heart origin and the U.S. population milestone of 160,000,000 in 1953.
