Extension economist Gene Futrell says 1965 farm income should increase both total and net per farm, with national net income near 1964’s 12.4 billion. Iowa livestock receipts should improve, offsetting any crop income drops and rising costs. Futures trading for beef cattle is discussed as a management tool, with hedging risks and potential profits noted.
