Donna Heideman daughter of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Heideman of Tripoli wed Robert Sassman son of Mr and Mrs John Sassman of Tripoli Sunday at 2 30 pm in Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church. Rev Theo Blaufuss officiated with music by Mrs Douglas Rosenthal and Hazel Slack. The gown featured Chantilly lace and nylon net with a cathedral train and a pearl coronet while the bouquet combined red roses and white mums.

September Term Opens in Waverly Court Tuesday
The September term of Bremer county district court opens Tuesday in Waverly with 31 new cases on the docket. Presiding judge William P. Butler will oversee 23 criminal matters including 15 OMVI charges and multiple cases against named individuals for desertion resisting officers and liquor offenses. New civil actions include divorces and various law suits filed by and against residents such as Duane Flynn, Arthur Insurance, Susie Hazlitt, National Bellas Hess, and Carnation Milk Company.

School enrollment gains nineteen students from last year
Tripoli school enrollment rose by 19 to 357 students this year from 312 last year. Kindergarten counts 26 this year with no kindergarten last year. grade breakdown lists 1st through 12th grades totaling 200 in grades and 157 in high school. Opening day last year had 172 grade school and 137 high school students.

The Sumner Cubs defeated Allison 4 to 2 to win the state championship at the American Baseball Congress double elimination tournament held at the Allison fairgrounds. Sumner earns Iowa state title and will compete in the ABC western division at Watertown, South Carolina next month. Readlyn man earns Meritorious Unit citation in Korea
Cpl. Henry Lobeck Jr. of Readlyn received the Meritorious Unit emblem while serving with Team A of the 313th Engineer Utilities detachment in Korea. The award, granted in the name of Gen. James A. Van Fleet, covered duty from March 1951 to May 1952 at I Corps headquarters. Lobeck, a carpenter in the unit, joined the Army in January 1951. 30 Boys Report for First Football Practice Session
Bremer county students earned degrees at the summer commencement held Thursday at Iowa State Teachers College Cedar Falls.
