Farewell service for Grace Lutheran pastor announced
A. Thalacker, pastor of Grace Lutheran church, will deliver his farewell sermon next Sunday at 10 a.m. He has accepted a call to Salem Lutheran church in West St. Paul and will be installed as assistant pastor with emphasis on parishioner and youth work on joining. He and his family plan to leave Tripoli for new duties. Thalacker has served here for 11.5 years and engaged in community groups and library work. Bowling Association elects officers with Dr Magnall as president and Eugene Ger as vice president.

Frank A. Robinson 92 died Tuesday August 17 at Mercy Hospital Waverly after hospitalization since July 19 He was born near Tripoli July 8 1873 son of Joseph and Mary Carmack Robinson He started a jewelry and watch repair business in Tripoli in 1893 later moved to Waverly in 1945 He is survived by daughter Iola Acken grandson Robert Acken and great granddaughter Debra Funeral services were held at Kaiser Carson Chapel Waverly with burial at Hartlington cemetery.

Funeral Services Held Monday for Wm. C. Buckley
William C. Buckley 78 of Marshalltown died of a cerebral hemorrhage and funeral services were held Monday in Marshalltown with burial there. A 32 year Army veteran and former University of Iowa military science instructor, he retired as a captain in 1945. He served as district court bailiff in Marshalltown for six years. He was born August 9 1887 in Dugar Indiana and married Doris Vivian Rich on December 1 1917. Survived by two sons eight grandchildren.

Retail sales in Bremer county for the quarter ending March 31 1965 totalled 5 637 550 up 236 509 from 1964 with Waverly Denver Janesville Readlyn and other towns showing gains while Sumner and Tripoli posted declines. The Iowa State Tax Commission released the figures noting per town changes and the overall county shift.
