Weather recap shows heat with sparse rainfall in Tripoli area
Tripoli and vicinity enjoyed a week of warm, sunny weather with daytime highs mostly in the upper 70s to 80s and nights in the 50s to 60s. A measured 0.16 inches of rain Sunday night barely refreshed the grass. Farmers report crops in good shape only thanks to spring moisture as surface soil remains bone dry. Thunder showers crossed the state unevenly, soaking some spots while missing others. Local observer Carl W. Ryan notes daily highs: 87 to 88, and lows from 50 to 67 across the week from Aug 14 to Aug 20.
