Tripoli Opens New Public Library With Open House
The new Tripoli library building featuring 3250 square feet of floor space hosted an open house Sunday afternoon with visitors from Mason City Des Moines and beyond. Gifts totaling several hundred dollars supported the project including a $500 from Herman Bany a memorial fund and book collection. Local groups donated funds for children's furniture an atlas stand a nylon flag and VFW auxiliary equipment. The project cost 520 050 plus 810 000 for equipment and shelving.

Tripoli Community school board opened bids April 16 for a 9000 square foot addition to the present high school building and awarded contracts totaling 139,598.84 for its construction to the apparent low bidders. H F Tank Construction Co was the general contractor bidder at 88,100 with five bidders. Langerstrom Plumbing and Heating of Oelwein was low for mechanical at 35,468.84 among six. Anthes Electric of Strawberry Point won the electrical at 16,030 with three bidders.
