Corporal Willis E. Goetz, 21, of the Seventh Cavalry, First Cavalry Division, died at Hines Veterans Hospital near Chicago on Saturday morning. He was wounded in Korea and held the Purple Heart. Funeral services will be at Peace Lutheran church in Hazen, North Dakota, Thursday at 2:00 PM. His uncle, Rev. William F. Goetz, cannot attend due to flood-caused cancellations disrupting travel between Fargo and Bismarck.

Keith Scott received word Monday evening of the death of his stepfather, John Curtis, 61, of Waterloo. Curtis was struck about noon that day by a cerebral hemorrhage and passed away about 7:30 p.m. at Scholtz Memorial hospital.
