Two Aunts Found Nearby in Story County
Nevada Iowa reports Mrs. Albert Cerka learned that her aunts Mrs. Kadl Peterson of Milford township and Mrs. Raud Johnson of Story City had lived within about fifteen miles for years. The women, all Norwegian immigrants married to well-to-do farmers, settled in Story County after leaving Norway. After seeking relatives in northern Iowa, Cerka learned of the aunts’ addresses in Roland and Story City and arranged a week long visit with Peterson and Johnson. The coincidence is attributed to Cerka’s late church attendance after marriage in Germany.
