Stomach Electrics Alleged In Digestion Study
In San Francisco Dr. Albert J. Atkin of the California Medical College demonstrated that the stomach emits electrical activity. An electrode was swallowed and touching the stomach wall produced a gallanometer reading near 10,000,000 volts of direct current. The claim is that digestion is an electro chemical process and that the stomach’s own juices are affected by this current.
