Mail routes began with transport to Iowa City Cedar Rapids and Vinton, then settlers in 1856 hired West Wilson for 3 dollars per trip before government routes started in 1869. The Wolf Creek office later moved east to West Union and a 1859 Buckingham post office opened with O Gravatt as postmaster, Roy Gravatt’s father.
