How Washington County's Name Was Changed
Territorial act renames Slaughter County to Washington and sets boundary lines from range five to six west at specific township lines. It names commissioners to locate the seat of justice in Astoria, establishes temporary seating, fixes compensation, and attaches western Territory for judicial purposes. The act takes effect upon passage.
