The People’s Party and Democratic conventions at White Sulphur Springs failed to merge after disputes over officer division. Democrats nominated part of the ticket while leaving offices for the People’s Party, then moved to fill the ticket with Republicans, provoking strong rebuke from the People’s Party. The remnant slate emphasizes constitutional money restoration and independence from party bosses.
After careful study of candidates the People's Silver Party ticket in Meagher County is urged as a clean administration. It highlights W. L. Holloway for District Judge, Joseph Blackwell and E. V. Baldwin for County Attorney, J. T. Buckingham for Assessor, and C. A. Wilder for Coroner with a focus on local loyalty and bi metalism.
The item argues W. L. Holloway will win the district judge race in Gallatin County and likely carry Meagher County, citing his past election as Gallatin county attorney and broad public support. It references other candidates on the People's Silver Ticket and forecasts shifts in local politics with predicted outcomes in November.
