Observers see a strong basis for a Helena capital railroad to White Sulphur Springs and Castle within a year. The proposed route runs nearly east from Helena to the Missouri near Stubb's Ferry, then Canyon Ferry, Confederate gulch, Townsend, and on to Castle Mountain and White Sulphur Springs with potential branches to Neihart and Crow Creek valleys.

Robinson mining town near Castle grows toward a thousand

The mining town of Robinson sits about three miles west of Castle near the mineral belt. Population may rise from around 300 to over 1000 before snow. Prominent businesses include Castle Mercantile Co under Mr. Austin, Pendleton general merchandise, Bill Hamilton clothing, Tierny stationery and confections, Robinson House run by Earnest Giggar, and boarding house by J. F. Potting. A Mr. Nelson plans a new hotel to serve guests.

Summit Mine Reopens Shaft Work on Corn Cracker
