The structure features new furniture steam heat electric light and a return call bell system in every room. A passenger elevator operates continuously. Ground floor hosts an elegant bar and billiard room office cigar stand dining room and a top barber shop. Large sample rooms accommodate commercial men.
Rates start at $2.00 per day with baths extra. Managers listed as Cuares W. Dresser and Joan J. Rompavon oversee the property.
Observers see a strong basis for a Helena capital railroad to White Sulphur Springs and Castle within a year. The proposed route runs nearly east from Helena to the Missouri near Stubb's Ferry, then Canyon Ferry, Confederate gulch, Townsend, and on to Castle Mountain and White Sulphur Springs with potential branches to Neihart and Crow Creek valleys.
The mining town of Robinson sits about three miles west of Castle near the mineral belt. Population may rise from around 300 to over 1000 before snow. Prominent businesses include Castle Mercantile Co under Mr. Austin, Pendleton general merchandise, Bill Hamilton clothing, Tierny stationery and confections, Robinson House run by Earnest Giggar, and boarding house by J. F. Potting. A Mr. Nelson plans a new hotel to serve guests.
The Summit Mine resumes development on the Corn Cracker shaft and plans to reach 150 feet. J W Collins negotiates continued work while 12 inches of high grade galena sits at the bottom. Cross-cut will reveal true lode character as ore improves and water level approaches.
Mine owners and machinery users are urged to read the Montana Iron Works advertisement on the first page. The firm claims reliability and financial capacity to fulfill any contract. Proximity from Butte to Castle or Park districts promises faster delivery and satisfactory price and quality. The ad invites new applicants to place trial orders.
About the first of May Mrs. D. Hoover will fill orders for pansy plants twenty five for one dollar. Cash orders left at the Messeneer office will be filled promptly or addressed to Mrs. D. Hoover.
