Homes for Visitors to the World’s Fair

The Northern Pacific Railroad offers low excursion rates to Chicago for the fair. Double daily trains with through sleeping cars will run, and a new guide titled Homes for Visitors to the World’s Fair lists about 9,000 private families willing to house visitors May 1 to October 30. The book, priced fifty cents, helps travelers locate accommodations and hotels with maps and be published by the railroad’s agent.

Boiler Explosion Kills Two on Montana Freight Engine

A Montana Union freight engine No. 150 exploded Saturday morning, killing two crewmen, John Kane and G. W. Winkenwarden, and seriously injuring engineer Paul Fetherkile and fireman Jas Mulligan. Ed Smith survived. An inquest will determine the cause amid claims of low water and overheating.

Triplets Born to Lizzie Bishop at Bridgeport Connis

Lizzie Bishop of Bridgeport Connis, aged twelve and married less than a year to Henry Hinckley, gave birth Sunday evening to triplets two girls and a boy. The girls weigh eight pounds each and the boy seven and a half. The girl-mother is doing well as are all three babies. William Ten Eyke and G E Pool of Radesborg were in town this week. Look out for Easter Monday.
