County board convened March 5 under chairmanship with Durnen Harvey Smith and Coad present. Minutes from December 1 and January 2 were approved and bills for salaries and quarteral expenses approved with warrants authorized. several disallowed for lack of authorization and others carried over to treasurer. list includes county officers, poor relief, road work, hospital, and various suppliers.

Bass in the Missouri River Stock Reappears in Local Waters
Fred Schreiner recently caught a four inch black bass from the Missouri near his ranch, tracing its lineage to 1895 when government hatchery fish were released. The stock, unseen for years, has persisted and spread along the river, with encouragement to stock a thousand more to speed restoration and give local anglers better catches.
