Decoration Day Delayed by Weather and Dignified By Festivities
Wet cold Decoration Day dampened public events with a cancelled town procession to the cemetery. Despite the rain, many visited the graves as the young militia performed, Rev Goulder spoke, and the evening program at Tierney Hall drew a large crowd with music, speeches by Senator Watt and J E Kanouse, and youth performances.

Bucklin Horse Accident Leaves Ranger With Severe Wound
The incident began when Bucklin's pants snagged on a barb while the horse bolted, tearing a deep wound in his leg. He was brought to town and cared for by Dr Kumpe after three hours of dressing at Sheriff Jobb's. Officials believe the stroke may not be life threatening and death was likely due to a prior heart condition rather than the wound. Bucklin has long worked in the valley and is well known there.
