Richard Gies hires Henry Born to extend a 120 foot Bamboo Chief tunnel to 120 feet depth. Schaffer and Warner push a tunnel into Alpine gulch Black Hawk. Dougherty and Stuart resume near Maiden townsite aiming 110 feet depth. Charles Stephens drives 125 feet into Red mountain with gold ore. Denner and Pott sink 35 feet on Chicago lode with ore walls. Sager cleans debris at Spotted Horse and rebuilds a shaft house. timbering began on the 26th. Weather delays from the hoist burning are not expected to stop the season.

State vs Lieut E Anderson larceny case at Miles City
In Miles City a police magistrate heard the state versus Lieut E Anderson G troop First Cavalry charged with larceny. Anderson pleaded guilty, fined 5 dollars plus costs 20, and ordered to return the property after taking Rankum’s buffalo coat and fur gloves. Rankum suffered neuralgia while coat was missing.
