The Northern Pacific and Burlington Railroads establish a twice a week tourist car line from Seattle to Kansas City. Cars depart Townsend on Tuesday and Saturday, reach Lincoln St Joseph and Kansas City the following days, with connections to Omaha Peoria Chicago and St Louis from Lincoln.
