Iridescent Flower Pageant Captivates Topeka Crowd

A dazzling Flower Parade in Topeka showcased the Queen of the Festival and a radiant train. Elaborate floral carriages, decorated by Ms. F Cavert and team, featured roses carnations and morning glories in gold and purple regalia. Crowds praised the spectacle and the artistry of costumes and dais, as the floral procession moved through the city with festive pageantry.

Carnival Procession Carriages Decked in Flowers and Color

Floral parade honors in Santa Fe with carriage groupings

A crowded Santa Fe Floral parade showcased numerous named riders and horse teams in carriage and pony displays. The pageant featured Mrs. J. B. Heberor, Miss Grace Fox, Miss May Large, Miss Helen Boon, Miss Harriet Jones, and many others in carriages trimmed with roses, chrysantheniums, daisies, poppies, and other flowers. Floats included Cinderella, a May scene boat, and a water department tableau with a fountain.

New Trunk Line To Link Great Lakes And New England

Burlington September 30 A new trunk line is planned joining the Great Lakes and New England via a Canada Atlantic extension from Rouse's Point New York to Swanton Vermont and west from Ottawa to Parry Sound. A Chicago to Parry Sound steamboat route will connect at Swanton with Central Vermont and Boston and Maine railroads. The Canada Atlantic will use Central Vermont tracks between Albury Springs and Swanton until the Swanton extension is ready with charter and government approval. Yard and shop facilities will be built at Swanton and early work has begun.

Mrs Atwood’s Funeral In Topeka Today

The funeral of Mrs. C. M. Atwood wife of Topeka’s auditor of passenger receipts was held at 3 o’clock this morning at the family residence 622 West street. L Blakestey officiated and burial followed in Topela cemetery. Pallbearers were C. W. Kouns W. J. Healy Warren M. Croxby F. J Gariledee M. M. Miller E. Morison. Mrs. Atwood 60 years old born in New Hampshire came to Topeka 17 years ago. She leaves a husband and two daughters Grace and Alice. Death caused by cancer and dropsy.

Standed Off A Mob In Kansas City Jail Riot

A mob gathered near a jail after a jail arrest at Kingels and Kansas Avenue. Militiamen faced a crowd of about 2000 as officers attempted to guard detainees and prevent a rescue. Revolvers were aimed as the crowd pressed, shouting for one prisoner identified as Sillic. Police, and a sergeant named Owen, fought to keep control while reinforcements arrived.
