New York September 17 Miss Madeline Pollard now living at 7 East Thirty first street declined interview on Colonel Breckinridge contest in Ashland district. She asked to be excused from questions about him and said she had given up acting for now. Friends say she abandoned stage plans due to lack of instruction and curiosity. She is at work on a book described as fiction based on her life. At her home she is known as Mrs Higgins.
