Horse Runs Amok In Crowded Business Center
Sunny Horsea on the sidewalk as a horse attached to a two seated carriage driven by Charlie Elder panicked during the Suwanee River band procession at noon. The frightened animal bolted down Kansas Avenue near Eighth Street, veering onto the Seventh Street sidewalk and scattering pedestrians. Elder halted the horse at 611 with Mrs. A. C. A reception will be held at the Kan sen medical college on Tuesday Sept 17 from 8 to 10 p m. Students alumni and friends are invited to attend. Mrs Sarah Carpenter aged 81 died Saturday afternoon at her home four miles west of town. Her remains were taken to Panora Iowa yesterday for interment. Caswell Whitman a 16 year old colored bicyclist was interrupted by Officer Ewing while riding on the sidewalk yesterday afternoon near Gar ees He was fined 3 dollars this morning. Mark Howell was too sick to appear as a witness against George Depree the colored joints. As Howell is the only witness not yet examined the case against Depree was dismissed.
