A fatal blaze in a West Thirty Second Street brick tenement kills seven residents and cripples others. Victims include George Friedman and Levi Priscinan, with a woman leaping from a third story window and likely dying. Smoke framed faces at upper windows as families of seven scramble for exits.
In district court the Daily World Herald, a Democratic organ, obtained a temporary injunction regarding a contract with the Republican state committee. An 81,000 bet on the election was placed today by J M Simpson of McPherson and Dr A Dykes for J D Mollison and other Smith Center parties with Morris and Lewelling tied, a $200 forfeit was posted, and a coin toss settled who held the forfeit.
