Diphtheria Claims Two Local Children In Rapid Tragedy

A 14 year old boy Benjamin F Hert died of diphtheria at 170 Boll er avenue near Leubach school grounds after a few days illness. The Polk school principal Mikie Tharp reported. The health board will fumigate Polk school this afternoon. Several children in the Chatland family also exposed. Mrs Della Chatland and Clay Jacheot among affected. Quarantine arrived late, as both patients died before measures could be taken.

Porous Brick Fire Injures Bucyrus Woman

In Bucyrus Ohio on October 21 Mia J Callaway, who lives nearby, tried a so called porous wick brick marketed as coal substitute. She soaked the brick in gasoline by mistake and dropped it into a stove lighting it. The stove was destroyed but her injuries were sustained.
