Private Hammond is dragged 600 feet from Sheridan near Chicago after brutal assault allegedly ordered by Lieut Col Bainbridge. The proposed court martial, investigation, and disciplinary actions follow amid muttered protests from fellow soldiers and calls for accountability.
A prisoner was dragged upstairs to Lieut Col Bainbridge's panel court then beaten along a stairway to the adjutant's offices. Blood shed on his hands as he was taunted and pushed, while Hammond was moved toward work. Four soldiers left the room amid the battered man's cries.
Yury Alexander suffered a severe machine injury at the IntesOvsun mills in North Topeka yesterday afternoon. His right hand was torn by a cutting mechanism and he bled heavily before medical aid arrived. He was taken to Dr Mann’s office on Western Avenue in critical condition, with the hand badly mangled but possibly salvageable.
