E J Smiley, secretary of the Kansas Grain Dealers association, was found guilty under the pension laws of 1887. Judge Andrews of LaCrosse imposed a fine of 3900 and three months imprisonment. County Attorney McCormick prosecuted with H S Sandersott assisting and H Whiteside defending. The arrest was by Sheriff Litto after Topeka arrival Sunday night.
