Richard C Meade, a 43 year old insurance swindler who fled years ago with his stenographer, was convicted this morning and sentenced to the state penitentiary for five years. He faced many petitions from prominents in Atchison and many widows claimed they had been cheated out of money. Meade and his stenographer Miss Hianche Riddell vanished abroad, later resurfacing in New York City where he worked as a collector under an assumed name.

County Officials Work Overtime at the Courthouse

Settlement in Calt divorce case sparks money in courts

In Providence Rhode Island on November 28 the Calt divorce settlement questions the role of money in island divorce courts.
