Nearly 1,000 labor representatives from Chicago boarded a Northwestern line train to Woodstock Ill for the release reception of Eugene V Debs. A reception at the jail followed by a march through Woodstock and a public meeting in Chicago are planned with unions and officials attending. Debs said he remained in jail to honor his duty and that the struggle had broad support from railroad unions and labor groups nationwide. He will address labor audiences in Woodstock and later in Chicago with his return journey to Torre.
