Daring Kentucky train robbery ends in killings
Six men attempted a southbound Queen and Crescent robbery near Gareexwoop Kentucky at 2 30 am. Three robbers were killed, one died later, three other accomplices unaccounted for. Superintendent T R Griffin and two officers repelled the raid in about ten minutes with no injuries to passengers. the train continued to Chattanooga. A second assault near Somerset involved a conductor and engineer describing the robbery and the captured fleeing bandits.
