Pittsburg March 10 an explosion occurred in the Hetwind White coal shaft at Dutwis Pa at 11 o'clock this morning. There were 100 men at work and all escaped except one. The mine foreman was badly burned. Later all entombed miners were resigned this afternoon. John Graham Honor Hopkins Peter Foreman Hugh Reynolds received burns on hands and face but injuries were not serious.

Williams left frustrated, returning to his office to find many requests for passes vetoed. Legislators connected to the Enron Pacific matter were absent as Williams pressed hard for concessions.
