New York March 5 The New York and New Jersey bridge company board heard Consulting Engineer Theodore Cooper outline general specifications for a proposed suspension bridge over the Hudson. He said the main aim is revenue by shifting west bank railroad traffic to New York City, warning a bridge unable to meet railroad demand could not be financially successful. The design calls for six standard railroad tracks on one level.

About 10 900 railroad miners in the Pittsburg district walked out in a planned action to push for a fourteen cent per ton raise to 69 cents based on the Columbus agreement. A secret circular was issued last night ordering the strike and both operators and miners are in separate secret sessions.
