Mrs Fuller Funeral Held In Oquawka
The funeral for Mrs Malinds Fuller mother of Captain A M Fuller and Mrs N Milliken was held at 2 PM at 217 West Fifth near Mrs Milliken’s home. Rev J B Thomas of the First Baptist church conducted the service. The remains departed by Island train at 3 2 for burial in Oquawka Illinois. A son George Miller of Kansas City and daughter Mrs E Bartlett of Carbondale attended. Captain Fuller accompanied the party to Kansas City.

Colored man struck by Union Pacific switch engine in Topeka
Frank Vaughn known as Rhody, a forty year old colored man, was hit as two tramps walked along tracks near St Johns street. He collided with a switch engine after stepping onto a second track while four switchmen shouted warnings. Vaughn and one switchman were injured, Vaughn suffered severe head injuries and facial injuries. He was taken to the Bedwell hospital and doctors expect recovery.
