The text argues there is no distinct judicial power. what is called judicial is a function of executive power. It contends that the legislative and executive branches alone exist, and complains that two masters of political science designed a system that inverted the natural order by elevating the agent above the principal, threatening the system’s life and dominance.
In Washington DC on June 5 a blaze in the state asylum laundry triggered a riot as hundreds of inmates screamed and some attempted to escape. Firemen, police, and workers battled the blaze. amid confusion two Black workers clashed with guards, later released on orders of the superintendent after surrendering. The laundry and items were destroyed.

The Santa Fe Railroad reveals a new freight shop near existing facilities in Topeka costing about 65000. In Brooklyn last evening a year old girl named Annie Churchill died after a snoring incident reportedly caused by Howard Maxon, a pilot. Maxon, described as intoxicated, struck the Churchill home and allegedly awakened Annie by a fall in the kitchen. A doctor could not save the child and the coroner will hear the case. Maxon has been arrested and jailed awaiting investigation.
New York accepts the Bacchante by Frederick Montiles as a gift from C J McKim after Boston rejection. The piece will be placed in the east gallery center on the first floor. McKim’s letter to Frederick Rhinelander prompted the gift approved by museum directors and sculpture committee.

Neighbors and Gen. Boyd with M. Wasson searched the house all night as police pursued the suspect, described as a very dark, about 5 feet 9 inches, 170 pound man with a desperate look.

The 32 pounder shot from Fort Sumter, fired April 12 1861 during Beauregard’s attack, has been donated by Jolly of Denver to a Confederate dead monument being erected by the Ladies Memorial association of Anderson. The relic, once hidden by Manse Jolly on Sullivan's Island, is authenticated and to be mounted on completion alongside a planned Garland Park concert.
