Destructive Runaway Injures Two People in Front of Firth Street
Mrs Geo C Stoker's horse caused a chaotic runaway this morning at 10 30. Miss Mabel Martic suffered serious injuries while Mrs S Welder and Mrs George C Stoker were knocked down and bruised as the carriage was dragged through Fifth Street toward Topeka avenue. Mrs Welder was badly bruised and cut, and Mrs Stoker escaped with a severe sprain after she leapt from the carriage and later retook control. The horse, initially spooked near Dr S E Martins residence, ran toward Topeka avenue, with helpers attempting to halt it at 1734 Topeka and near Fourteenth Street.
