Reports say regular troops will be ordered out at once to quell the Bannock Indians, with decisive action expected as tensions rise among tribes and authorities prepare for possible military measures.
Amid fierce clashes between settlers and Bannock and Shoshone bands in Wyoming, reports say four to seven Indians killed and settlers threatened. Interior requests troops to protect settlers and compel Indians back to reservations as Governor Richards seeks federal action. Confidence grows that federal troops will be sent immediately to quell the disturbance and restore order.
Forty prominent Emporia residents, including the Hooda Eskridges and Whitleys, were arrested for not ringing bicycle bell crossings. They appeared in police court this morning, paid four dollars each in fines and costs.

The show called Automatic Base Ball by Electricity uses Frank Chapman's invention. A two foot high figures represent players in proper positions on a raised stage as the game between New York and the opposing league club is depicted by electricity. Away games are shown at the theater each afternoon with home games reproduced in the evening.
Four of the heaviest bells in Kansas were blessed at St Benedict for St Mary's church in St Skveca Kun. Weighing 6150 pounds together they will soon ring the church tower. The blessing began at 9 30 am by Bishop Louis M. Fink with Stoeckle delivering sermons and a German English address. A grand dinner followed and a lecture was planned later in the day.
