Stormy Senate clash over tariff reform and Cleveland letter

Head End Collision Kills Three on Big Four Wreck

Crocinsati Ohio July 20 A head end collision on the Cleveland Chicago and St Louis line at Griffith Station fifteen miles from Crocinsati killed three and injured ten. The Chicago express and the Lois express collided while one engine attempted to back to a gravel bank. Engineer Hart and fireman Frank Taylor were among the dead. several postal clerks and passengers were hurt but none seriously.

Denver minister denounces blasphemy as Christ an anarchist

In Carthage Missouri July 21 Rev G H Hemingway of First Presbyterian preached on responding to Rev Myron Reed of Denver who claimed Christ was an anarchist. Hemingway called Reed's remarks rank blasphemy and questioned if he could obtain forgiveness for sins, presenting a sharp rebuke in his sermon.
