Wichita July 4 Santa Fe will send an attorney to Danville Har per county to arrest several prominent women on a criminal charge. A joint in Danville failed, later led to a plan to throw stale eggs at depots. Women met at the depot with a basket of furs, then incidents escalated amid protests and rumors of more actions.
Washington July 4 the War Department reports troops ready to start home 1400 Californa infantry and artillery to Sherman loading units and 1500 men with officers to Idaho North Dakota and Wigourtag for redeployment. Otis Lamp Works Fire New Brunswick plant of Heaver Light Company destroyed in blaze raising loss about 100000 with partial insurance.
New issue of improvement bonds about 150000 dollars will bear four and a half per cent interest with a premium offered. City topeka council ratified site for city hall, bonds priced with premiums to attract buyers from New York and other cities. Several firms bid, including Shepard Co and Harris & Co, with protests over bidding terms. Bond sale postponed to Wednesday for further action.
Bids opened for paving Tenth avenue from Tyler to Lane Street and adjacent alleys and streets including Monroe Madison Tyler and Topeka avenues. Multiple firms proposed rates per square yard or per linear foot with various allocations for curbing sidewalks and alleys. bids referred to a committee for final action.

In Buffalo on June 4, Frankeene defeated George Lavigne after twenty hard rounds to claim the welterweight championship of the world. Lavigne’s seconds included Billy Lavine and Jim Robinson, while Erne’s seconds were Frank Simper and Billy Huer.
