Binghamton New York July 1 The six month strike by about five hundred Erie boiler makers at Susquehanna has been settled. Workers will return to work July with abridged demands granted as part of the settlement ending the disruption.
A lightning strike hit a Chicago pier at 12:30 pm during a severe thunderstorm, destroying the pier and plunging a group of boys into Lake Michigan.
