Canfield today assumed the presidency of the Ohio Soto University after a career at Pineereqeests and the University of Kansas. A native of New England, he is a Williams College graduate and arrives from prior roles in higher education.
Mrs. Buchanan pleaded with Gov. Morton for clemency as her husband Dr. Robert W. Buchanan, convicted wife poisoner, was executed in the electric chair at the New Jersey prison. The 1,740 volt current lasted four seconds, then 40 volts for 30 seconds before death.
