New York Jan 26 A severe storm reaches as far as Seaboard including Staten Island. Winds from the sea drive the heavy snow into a driving rain flooding streets and gutters. Early trains and ferry passengers suffer as a high tide and dense fog envelop the bays.
A Santa Fe passenger train departing at 7:50 p m collided head on with an extra freight near Brazilion yesterday. Both engines and two coal cars were badly damaged, with several other cars damaged. Snow and a blinding storm prevented crews from seeing in time to avert the wreck.
A brief item reports the ladies of the First Presbyterian church issuing The Daily Traveler for their society fundraiser. The first two copies were printed, one mailed to Mrs Gov Morvill in Topeka, and two copies sold to the highest bidders at Cleveland for high prices.
