Price of sugar may drop for Canadian refiners

Canadian Pacific and Grand Trunk railways abolished the differential rate on sugar, enabling Canadian refiners to compete with United States producers. The Grand Trunk uses a water route via New London and Portland, while Canadian Pacific routes via Albany, allowing a 4 cent per 100 pounds differential to be waived on these routes.
