Board Contemplates New Manual Training Tech School

The board of education will not build this year but may seek approval for a new manual training tech school to allow early preparation. From 1901 taxes, $20,000 was borrowed from the general fund to aid Sumner and Lowman Hill schools, to be repaid from the 1908 building fund, reducing remaining funds to about $10,000. Likely continuation of a 2 mill building levy for three to four years to finish needed constructions and repairs. Potwin school is crowded and a move of Nickel Plate to Auburndale may be considered to aid younger students and relieve Potwin and Harrison Clay schools as Suroner work proceeds.
