New Year Reception at the White House Keeps 50 Women Guests

President Cleveland hosts a New Year reception in the Blue Parlor with fifty women in fine clothes. Sousa’s band plays in the Red Blue and Green Parlors as diplomats and cabinet members greet officials. The White House is elaborately decorated with flowers plants and greenery.
