Death of Thomas Colby at Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore

Thomas F. Chiby known as a long time resident of this city died yesterday afternoon at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland. He had been ill for six months and entered the hospital about a month ago for treatment. The cause of death was Brights disease of the kidney. Cully and his daughter Josephine were with him at the time of death, and his daughters Nellie and Mary leave this afternoon for Chambersburg Pennsylvania where the interment will take place.

Kindig Dismissed Exbank Cashier Under Cloud of Fraud

Special to the Star from St. Francis Kansas reports ex cashier Ry J Kindig formerly of Oberlin Kansas head of the State Bank of Oberlin was dismissed in a case tied to a solvent bank failure in 1893. Convicted in Thomas County after a venue change, he served three years before the Supreme Court reversed. Citizens of Decatur County petitioned to dismiss. petition granted.
