New Overland Train to Coast From Chicago
Railroads plan a faster Chicago to coast service with one train to Los Angeles and another to San Francisco as the Santa Fe line into San Francisco opens. Aimed to boost express revenue, the changes may include tying the two limited trains and ending the tri weekly service. Santa Fe cancels air traffic agreements with Port Arthur and Kansas City, while assuring Gulf and other lines of through connections and arbitration as needed.
