The faculty at Rievens Institute of Technology in New York sent Andrew Carnegie a gift of a section of original 36 pound T rails from the Camden railway, enclosed in a handsome casket with letters and bills related to the tr iary of the first T rails. Dr Henry Morton, president, noted the rails were tarnished and linked to the Damien Amboy track between Amboy and Hordentown dated 1901.
A large fire in Pueblo destroyed Foley's lumber yards and warehouses and thirteen nearby dwellings. One child is missing and a woman injured by a street accident. Firefighters worked late to prevent further spread as residents removed belongings. A separate service advertises rail schedules and tourist sleepers for an eastbound route from Topeka via Santa Fe.
New York August 18 Shah of Persia plans an electric railway link for Teheran and Asia. Sleeper and free chair car service offered by Santa Fe Route for travelers from Topeka to Chicago on a tinted G A F train this Sunday. Tickets available via agents for rail passes to Colorado and Utah. Ticket sales from Rio Springs, Pueblo, Salt Lake City, and Ogden from June 1 to September 16 at reduced rates. New York on August 1 a former burial supervisor for a county potter's field is buried there at 68. He died recently to prevent tracing relatives. Once a carpenter, he spent years directing pauper burials, later living as an almshouse inmate.
Congressman Curtis plans a vaudeville act as part of his re election bid in the first district. He will begin September 4 and bring along Frank Weightslon to perform humorous songs. Curtis will have assistants and will spend a week touring.
