Morrill leads with 624 votes to 229 as Morrill men organize the Kansas Republican State Convention at Hamilton Hall. Delegates, bands, and speeches frame the tumultuous day with tempers, cheers, and a clash over leadership and silver policy as McKinley’s supporters stand firm.
