A Denver and Rio Grande World’s Fair train plunged through a trestle near Pueblo after waterspout flooding turned a dry creek bed into a raging chasm. The disaster, reported last night, left numerous fatalities and widespread wreckage.
A derailment near Fountain Creek sent three passenger cars into the river. About 100 were killed or missing, with many bodies recovered along the banks as rescue teams, surgeons, and nurses rushed to the scene. Firemen and railroad officials coordinated relief while crowds lined the river seeking news of missing loved ones.

A second shot tore the back door of the drug store, damaging the prescription case and medicine bottle.
Simla India dispatches report that the British expedition reached Lassa at noon on August 3 with no further fighting beyond what had been noted in earlier reports.
