Immigration plan for Western Australia in the sixties
A 1868 proposal by George Throssell outlines immigration to Western Australia, arguing for English and Irish labor over coolies. It details a staged program offering free passages, guaranteed employment, land grants, and district immigration committees, with rail and public works to attract settlers and sustain growth.

The Town Hall hosted a successful children's fancy dress event under the Parents and Citizens Association led by Mrs L B Fox. About 50 children wore costumes crafted for the occasion, judges awarded prizes to many well dressed entrants, and the night closed with supper and dancing. The event aims to raise 13 to 14 pounds for the School Prize Fund.
